A Purr-fect Tail of Friendship: A Kitten's Kite-tale
CHAPTER TWO When Whiskers peered out the window, her eyes widened. She spotted a kitten playing next to an oak tree. The kitten was with a kind, old man who was nailing a home for a chirping bird onto a post. The kitten’s coat was ginger, like a blazing sunset. Her eyes sparkled. The kitten seemed to be just what Whiskers had been looking for most. Whiskers mind was firm; she told herself she wanted to meet the kitten.

With a brave heart, Whiskers made the choice to meet the little orange kitty. He leaped over the fence and joined the orange kitten under the oak tree. The kind, old man in the middle of the yard saw Whiskers and smiled. The orange kitty stopped playing and coiled her tail around her paws. Whiskers said, “Do you want to join me?” Whiskers pointed to his home, where he plays with his toys. The orange kitty said, “I want to join you!” Whiskers and the orange kitty were happy.

CHAPTER FOUR The orange kitty, named Sunny, happily decided to join Whiskers’ crew. The kind, old man had a cat toy in his hand. He threw the toy for the kitties to fetch. The toy flew over the fence and landed in the dirt. Whiskers and Sunny wildly jumped over the fence for the toy. Sunny got to the toy first. Sunny said to Whiskers, “I will hold the toy and you can chew it.” That day, Sunny and Whiskers grew to be pals.

After a few days, Sunny decided to show Whiskers a new place. With a gentle “mew,” Sunny led Whiskers into the wild forest nearby. Magical vines coiled all over the tall, old, trees. Strange, pinkish flowers grew from the soil. They spewed feathery seeds into the sky and the wind blew the seeds past the two kittens. Birds flew back and forth from the trees, chirping and singing. The two kittens played and twirled in the forest all day. In this magical place, their bond grew stronger.
