Mom scolded the boy,
In the kitchen filled with mess,
His cat was lying on the floor,
The two were playing as before!
1
The two were sorry, they knew,
So the boy and cat bowed their heads low,
Making all their mistakes undone,
To make the mess, they had won.
2
Mom looked sternly at the two,
But love in her heart, there was too,
She knew all children made mistakes,
But it was time to set the stakes.
3
The boy and cat looked so small,
No doubt they felt any fault,
Asking for forgiveness, they tried,
But mom, her rules, she must abide.
4
Mom warned them, "Be careful dear,"
A hug to the two she did draw near,
To forgive, she knew was right,
But stick to her rules, the two must not fight.
5
The boy and cat felt so sad,
But they knew they had to be glad,
For they were tasked to clean the mess,
No matter how big or small, nevertheless.
6
So the two of them worked together,
To clean the mess, made better and better,
At last Mom said, "All done!"
Boy sighed in relief, at least it was fun.
7
That night the two hugged Mom so tight,
Her love for the boy, shone so bright,
No longer angry, she was glad,
That the kitchen was finally, not mad.
