The Little Red Hen-Rye: A Grains-and-Yeasty Tale

Once upon a time, in a beautiful countryside, there lived a small, plump hen with bright red feathers. She was known as the Little Red Hen, and she lived in a cozy little farmyard with her friends—Duck, Cat, and Pig.

1

Every day, the Little Red Hen would explore the farmyard with her best friend, Duck. Duck was a lovely yellow duck with soft, fluffy feathers and a bright orange beak. They loved to swim in the pond and quack merrily all day long.

2

Another friend of the Little Red Hen was Cat. Cat was a sleek black cat with mesmerizing green eyes. She loved to curl up in warm spots and chase after playful mice in the barn. Cat was always full of mischief and excitement.

3

The last member of their little group was Pig. Pig was a chubby pink pig with a curly tail and a snout that loved to sniff out delicious truffles hiding beneath the ground. Pig loved to roll around in the mud and oink with joy.

4

One bright morning, while the Little Red Hen and her friends were playing in the farmyard, they discovered something unusual. Nestled in a cozy corner under the apple tree, they found a few scattered grains of wheat.

5

The Little Red Hen had an idea. She looked at her friends and said, "Why don't we work together to plant and grow this wheat? Then we can bake bread and have a delicious meal for all of us to share!"

6

But to the Little Red Hen's disappointment, Duck, Cat, and Pig refused to help. Duck said swimming in the pond was much more enjoyable, Cat wanted to take a nap in the sun, and Pig simply shrugged it off with a snort.

7

Undeterred, the Little Red Hen decided to carry out the entire task by herself. She worked hard, plowing the field, planting the seeds, and watering them day after day. The wheat grew tall and golden, ready to be harvested.

8

After the wheat was harvested, the Little Red Hen tirelessly ground the wheat into flour and kneaded it to make a dough. While the bread baked in the oven, the delicious scent filled the air and reached the noses of her lazy friends.

9

Finally, when the bread was ready, the Little Red Hen took it out of the oven—a beautifully golden and perfectly baked loaf. She cut it into four equal slices and invited Duck, Cat, and Pig to join her for a feast.

10

As they tasted the freshly baked bread, the warmth and deliciousness filled their mouths. Duck, Cat, and Pig realized the importance of hard work and teamwork. They thanked the Little Red Hen and promised to help her in the future.
