The Pineapple with Many Eyes: A Mother's Regret and a Daughter's Adventure

Once upon a time, in a distant place, Aling Rosa and her daughter Pinang lived happily together.

1

But one day, Aling Rosa fell ill, leaving Pinang feeling both pampered and neglected at the same time.

2

As Pinang's illness kept her home, she longed for someone to play or talk to, but no one came.

3

One day, Pinang asked her mother why she had been left alone so often, which angered Aling Rosa.

4

In a fit of frustration, Aling Rosa uttered words she would come to regret - "I wish you had many eyes to see everything!"

5

The next morning, Aling Rosa woke up to find Pinang missing, with no clues as to where she had gone.

6

In her search for Pinang, Aling Rosa found a peculiar plant in her yard, bearing fruits that looked like human heads surrounded by eyes.

7

Realizing her mistake, Aling Rosa decided to take care of the plant, which she named Pinang, as a way to make amends.

8

And so, in people's minds, Pinang was now known as Pinya, the Pineapple, a reminder of the love Aling Rosa had for her daughter.
