Attempting to reconnect
In a village surrounded by hills lived an 8-year-old boy named Léo.
1
Near the village, there was a wide and sparkling river. An old wooden bridge allowed people to cross it.
2
Adults often said: "This bridge is fragile. You must cross it slowly and take turns."
3
But Léo thought: "I am fast and light. Rules are for adults."
4
One morning, Léo wanted to be the first to cross the bridge with his friends. He ran without listening to anyone.
5
The bridge creaked. A loud crack echoed: crraac. Léo stopped in his tracks. His heart was pounding.
6
Behind him, his friends stood still. No one dared to move.
7
A wise old man from the village arrived calmly. He placed his hand on Léo's shoulder and spoke softly.
8
"Shall we cross together, slowly, helping each other?" the old man proposed. The children moved one by one, holding hands.
9
The bridge did not crack anymore. It even seemed more solid. On the other side, the children smiled, proud of their teamwork.
