In Thneedville, no trees could be found,
Only plastic substitutes littered the ground.
Ted wished to impress Audrey, the girl of his dreams,
But her desire for a Truffula tree was not as easy as it seems.
1
Ted seeks out the Once-ler, a man so alone,
He once knew the forest that was now overgrown.
The Once-ler tells his tale of Lorax, who spoke for the trees,
And warns about the greed that brought their destruction with ease.
2
With a voice like thunder, the Lorax descends,
A creature so small, yet he stood tall in the end.
Ted learns the importance of the Truffula tree,
And how life can flourish if we let nature be.
3
The Once-ler's greed grew like a weed,
And soon, Truffula trees were all that he would need.
He couldn't hear the Lorax, nor Ted's warning plea,
And the forest disappeared, but still, the Once-ler couldn't see.
4
Audrey had a wish for the Truffula tree,
But Ted couldn't find it though he searched with glee.
He realized that he must plant a seed,
And with patience and care, it would surely succeed.
5
Ted's determination grew as each day passed,
He worked hard, ignoring those who harassed.
He dug and he sowed, never once stopping to rest,
Until finally, a Truffula tree sprouted from the earth's chest.
6
The sight of the Truffula tree brought awe,
To those who thought nature was nothing more than a flaw.
And with Ted's actions, they started to care,
For a world where nature could thrive everywhere.
7
The Once-ler, filled with regret and remorse,
Finally understood the Lorax, and now knew the source.
He passed on his wisdom to Ted and the town,
About the responsibility, we have to protect the world all around.
