In ancient days of yore, a legend told
Of a secret to behold, a tale so old
Of a great mystery hidden, yet bold
A mystery of the pyramids, so I'm told.
1
There once was a mighty structure, so grand
It rose above the sand, a wonderland
A shape so tall, reaching to the sky
Its purpose and creation, shrouded in a lie
But one man sought the truth, and that's no lie.
2
This man was learned, wise and bright
He studied the stars by day and night
His quest was not for wealth, nor might
But to uncover the secrets of this ancient site.
3
Across the barren lands, he did ride
A caravan of camels, by his side
A journey long and harsh, none can abide
But his zeal for knowledge, he couldn't hide.
4
Day by day, the sun grew hotter
Their journey, it seemed, would never falter
But on they rode, through the scorching sand
Until finally, they reached their promised land.
5
There they stood, the mighty pyramids
Towering high, overhead and amid
A sight to behold, so grand and tough
A mystery unsolved, yet proving enough.
6
Up the steep steps, he began to climb
His task, it was now his time
To uncover the truth, and lay it bare
For all to see, and with him share.
7
And finally, he made it to the peak
His heart it thundered, as he took a sneak
Awe inspiring, the view that lay below
Promising answers to the moon and stars that glow.
8
But his journey not yet done, he continued
For the mysteries that lay within included
Winding passages, endless and vast
A journey of discovery, an odyssey to last.
9
And in one room, he found himself
With ornate carvings, a priceless wealth
Of secrets to unfold, of tales untold
Of history as it happened, and secrets to behold.
